What is a LAN Party?

LAN parties are what happen when people bring their computers to a centralized location, connect them together via a Local Area Network and play video games.  Often there is pizza.  Sometimes, tomfoolery.

Where are the events held?

Events are held in the large meeting room at the Bozeman Public Library. The library is located at 626 E. Main, right across from the Ale Works.

What do I need to bring?

Your computer, monitor, keyboard and mouse.  A pair of headphones is probably a good idea.  We take care of the rest.

What games do you play?

We are open to pretty much anything.  We do have some favorites: Quake 3, Unreal Tournament 2004, WarCraft 3, DOTA, StarCraft 2 Serious Sam, Team Fortress 2, League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Source but everyone and every game is welcome.

Is there food?

We provide free drinks and snacks for all attendees. We take orders for pizza around 6:00 p.m. which we get from Dominos – $7.00 for a medium two-topping pizza (tip included), so bring money or a card if you want pizza.  Heeb’s is also a couple of doors down from the Library so pit stops are very doable.

How many players can you host?

We have equipment and space for approximately 50 people.

How much does it cost?

The LAN parties are free to the public.  If you would like to contribute you can purchase a ticket for our featured charity from our products page. All donations are very appreciated and completely voluntary. The total sum of the donation is passed directly on to the featured charity following the LAN party.

What is a “featured charity”?

It is the charity we select for each LAN to be the beneficiary of the ticket money.  See the Featured Charities page for more information.

How can I find out about future events?

I will keep this site updated with any breaking news.  You can also join our Facebook group by clicking the Facebook icon at the bottom of the page or by going to http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=102202183163875

Why are you doing this?

  • We like to LAN.
  • Bozeman is lacking in events that cater to the techno-crowd.
  • Meet cool new people.
  • Raise money for charities.
  • It’s crazy amounts of fun.
